Miss Teen Cayman Jamie Rogers has joined Phoenix Health Services and the newly-opened ChiroSpa Clinic in Grand Cayman. She was crowned Miss Teen Cayman in September 2008 and has been busy ever since.
A press release from the organisation said it was delighted to welcome Ms Rogers who joined the team in helping to offer health services to the Cayman community.
A graduate of John Gray High School, Ms Rogers is presently enrolled in night classes with the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI), pursuing an Associate degree in Social Studies.
“For such a young woman, Jamie exhumes confidence like I’ve never seen,” said ChiroSpa’s Director Dr Robert Bouliane. “She has stepped into her role as if she has done it all her life.”
Ms Rogers’ new employment as receptionist for both Phoenix Health Services and ChiroSpa Clinic has a very important role.
“Her position has a critical role in the office and the health of all those that seek our help; she is very mature for her age, and the patients love her,” Dr Bouliane said. “Her maturity is apparent with how she has managed her busy schedule and her new position.”
Month to month after being crowned, Ms Rogers has made several appearances throughout the community as well as doing multiple radio interviews on Cayman local radio station Vibe FM.
She said her most memorable moment so far this year was a motivational speech she performed at the Francis Bodden Girls Home.
“I felt so proud and connected to each girl,” she said. “I have remained friends with some of the girls I met that day and continue to give guidance where I can.”
She has made appearances for Breast Cancer Awareness, Pirates Week, West Bay Heritage Day, George Town Heritage Day, World Diabetes Day, Junior Batabano Parade, Department of Children and family Services Family Fun Day and the Chamber’s Golden Apple Awards -- to name just a few.
“Being out in the community this year has made me comfortable to communicate with all the different patients. I wanted a job which would accommodate my love for interactions with people, I think I found exactly what I was looking for and I am learning about health and wellness,” she said.
Ms Rogers, the company said, will be an integral part of developing a new series of health and wellness seminars, appropriately named “Eat Well, Move Well, Think Well” hosted by the ChiroSpa Clinic.
